Advantages of MLD

Text Description is below the image.
  • Measurement at any of the levels of a hierarchy enables examination of whether differences in average outcomes between organizations are explained by factors such as organizational practices/structures, or other characteristics of individual patients or providers

Notes:

Most importantly, the technique allows for cross level analysis (hospital-physician, team-patient, patient-time)

E.g. Do certain IT characteristics in hospitals moderate the relationship between physician practice patterns and quality of care?

Does team culture affect the relationship between physician job satisfaction and turnover?
