Tables Appendix

This appendix contains a total of 326 tables, which are organized according to the measure groupings used in the body of this report. The tables are numbered from 1 to n within the nine priority areas of Effectiveness of Care and then within the areas of Safety, Timeliness, Patient Centeredness, Resource Consumption and Overall Measures. For measures which have multiple tables — i.e., both National and State tables and/or tables for more than one year — the table number is appended with a letter, starting with the most recent year of National data. For example, for the first measure in the Effectiveness of Care group, "Percent of women (age 40 and over) who report they had a mammogram within the past 2 years", the tables are numbered as follows:

  • Table 1.1a: National data for year 2000
  • Table 1.1b: State data for year 2001
  • Table 1.1c: State data for year 2000

The range of table numbers within each measure area is as follows:

  1. Effectiveness
    • Cancer: 1.1a-1.14
    • Chronic Kidney Disease: 1.15a-1.19
    • Diabetes: 1.20a-1.30
    • Heart Disease: 1.31-1.45c
    • HIV/AIDS: 1.46a-1.47c
    • Maternal and Child Health: 1.48a-1.64
    • Mental Health: 1.65-1.68c
    • Respiratory Diseases: 1.69a-1.86b
    • Long-term Care: 1.87-1.106
  2. Safety: 2.1-2.23b
  3. Timeliness: 3.1a-3.6c
  4. Patient Centeredness: 4.1a-4.4f
  5. Resource Consumption: 5.1-5.3
  6. Overall Measures: 6.1a-6.3

Note: the population categories (e.g., Race, Ethnicity) shown on these tables are as reported by the source of the data (which is indicated in the Source note on each table); therefore they are not consistent across all tables.

Information on the measure specifications for these tables is contained in the Measures Specifications Appendix.
