Figure H.3 is a vertical bar graph depicting six hospital quality of care measures, and their relative rankings by median percent of improvement. Five of the six bars compare individual quality of care measures, while the sixth bar represents all remaining hospital core measures combined.
The first and tallest vertical bar represents QIO heart attack care and shows an improvement of 15.0 percent. A second and shorter vertical bar represents QIO pneumonia care and shows an improvement of 11.7 percent. A third and shorter vertical bar represents QIO heart failure care and shows an improvement of 8.4 percent. A fourth and still shorter vertical bar represents patient safety postoperative complications and shows an improvement of 7.3 percent, while the fifth and shorter vertical bar represents patient safety adverse events associated with CVCs and shows an improvement of 4.5 percent. The sixth and shortest vertical bar represents all remaining hospital core measures of care, and shows a combined median improvement of 2.6 percent.
