2008 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Reports

The National Healthcare Quality Report (NHQR) is a comprehensive national overview of quality of health care in the United States. It is organized around four dimensions of quality of care: effectiveness, patient safety, timeliness, and patient centeredness.

Older Adults
Medicare beneficiaries age 65 and over who had an influenza vaccination in the last winter (September-December)
Medicare beneficiaries age 65 and over who had an eye examination in the last 12 months
Medicare beneficiaries age 65 and over with delayed care due to cost
Female Medicare beneficiaries age 65 and over who had a mammogram in the last 12 months
Adults at each health literacy level
Medicare beneficiaries age 65 and over who received dental care in the last 12 months
 


Older Adults

Measure Title

Medicare beneficiaries age 65 and over who had an influenza vaccination in the last winter (September- December).

Measure Source

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS).

Comments

Survey respondents are asked if they had a flu shot last winter. If further explanation is requested, respondents are asked if they got a flu shot anytime during the period from September through December of the previous year.
