Overweight adults with doctor-diagnosed arthritis who reported they received counseling about weight reduction from a health care provider
Adults with chronic joint symptoms who have seen a health care provider for their symptoms

Subset of the denominator who reported they had arthritis education as part of the management of their condition

Comments

Adults with doctor-diagnosed arthritis who answered "Yes" to the NHIS question, "Have you ever taken an educational course or class to teach you how to manage problems related to your arthritis or joint symptoms?" were considered cases receiving evidence-based arthritis education. Estimates are age adjusted to the 2000 U.S. standard population.
